Day #107

Yay I got to sleep in today! (Until a whopping 7:30!) I ate a leisurely breakfast and walked to meet Alice in the center of the city (she had gone to a mass to see talented youths sing beautiful music which started at 8am).

(Note: my friends from kent and I have been finding the H&M in every city we go to, and there are THREE on one street here. ALSO A DUNKIN DONUTS LIKE WHAT I DIDNT KNOW THAT WAS A THING WAY OUT HERE)

Reunited, we went to (get ready for this spelling) the Kunsthistorisches Museum, which housed roughly ten billion pieces of art, from sculpture to paintings and beyond. Not only was the art inside beautiful, but almost every inch was decorated and ornate, including the ceilings and banisters of the staircases.

Apparently everything is closed on Sunday's, but we managed to find probably the only open place for lunch and got lots of delicious pizza for very little money, which is obviously the ideal situation. Stomachs satisfied, we headed to the Imperial Palace (aka Hofburg)

They let me try on some of the jewels which was super nice of them

Walking around more, we explored St. Stephen's Cathedral (they really loved that guy in Eastern Europe) before waiting in line for the opera. HOW COOL IS THAT. We got tickets to see Mozart's The Magic Flute ("Die Zauberflöte" in German if ya wanna get real fancy) for €4. Just let that sink in for a minute. And I was INCREDIBLE, even though we did have to stand for the entire 3+ hours (besides intermission)

This is definitely the most classy I've ever been, and it feels pretty great.
